Quarantine

Homegrown Coral Reef exclusively sells aquacultured corals. All corals sold are fully inspected and quarantined to prevent pests. Our quarantine process entails removing all received corals from frag plugs and re-basing to a clean frag plug after which corals are dipped. Following dipping, corals are thoroughly inspected to ensure there are no signs of pests, after which they are placed in a quarantine tank. While in quarantine corals are monitored and repeatedly dipped over the course of 2-3 months to ensure the identification and removal of any pests. Once corals are cleared through quarantine they are treated with interceptor, dipped again, and thoroughly inspected before being added to our aquaculture system.
